Washington, D.C. – Congressman John J. Faso (R-Kinderhook) today issued the following statement regarding the news that the United States Coast Guard plans to suspend its push for new anchorages in the Hudson River.
“This is welcome news to many of our residents along the Hudson River. I am pleased to see that in addition to suspending its anchorages plan, the Coast Guard decided to commission a formal study to better understand the risks associated with these anchorage grounds. This is something I fought hard for in my work on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.”
An official statement from the United States Coast Guard is expected by the end of the week.
