Washington, D.C. – Congressman John Faso (R-Kinderhook) issued the following statement on his recent appointment as Vice Chairman of Transportation and Infrastructure’s Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials:

“I’m honored to serve as Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee alongside Subcommittee Chairman Jeff Denham (R-California). This subcommittee will discuss many issues of great importance to the 19th District, namely our rail system and energy infrastructure. I look forward to working on policies that will work to build a 21st century infrastructure for America as well as invest in and improve freight and passenger rail transportation in order to better serve commuters and businesses in Upstate New York. We need to address how to promote safety, how to strengthen America’s infrastructure, and find ways to bolster our nation’s competitiveness, and I look forward to getting to work.”

“Congressman Faso will be a great asset as Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster of Pennsylvania. “His experience working with the rail industry in New York and his deep knowledge of energy infrastructure will serve his constituents and Americans well.”
