Washington, D.C. – Congressman John Faso (R-Kinderhook) was appointed to the Nutrition Subcommittee as well as the Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit Subcommittee on the House Agriculture Committee. Congressman Faso issued the following statement:

“I am honored to be appointed to serve on two subcommittees on the House Agriculture Committee. On the Nutrition Subcommittee I look forward to work on policies that will protect temporary assistance programs for those in need. As a member of the Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit Subcommittee I will work to promote policies that will increase price transparency and reducing the regulatory burden that greatly impacts New York’s family farmers.”

“Congressman Faso will make a great addition to both subcommittees,” said House Agriculture Chairman Mike Conaway. “It’s important that we work toward policies that promote a way to help recipients move up the economic ladder, not as a tool to trap them in dependency. We also want to empower our farmers by cutting the red-tape and streamlining government bureaucracy.”
