Washington, D.C. - Congressman John Faso (R-Kinderhook) released the following statement on the House passage of bipartisan legislation to repeal the Independent Patient Advisory Board (IPAB).

Congressman Faso said, “Ushered in with the Affordable Care Act, IPAB is a misguided concept that would ultimately serve to ration healthcare to our seniors. Handing over seniors’ healthcare options to a bunch of unelected bureaucrats in a closed off room is unacceptable, and 19th District seniors deserve better than that.” Faso continued, “In addition to overwhelming bipartisan support, close to 800 organizations representing healthcare stakeholders came out in support of this commonsense legislation, and I was proud to vote in favor of the IPAB repeal.”

H.R. 849, the Protecting Seniors Access to Medicare Act, passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support, 307-111.
