Washington, D.C. – Congressman John Faso (R-Kinderhook) released the following the statement on the proposed rule issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS):

“This proposed rule is an important addition to the ACA repair process to allow insurers to prepare healthcare plans for 2018, stabilize insurance markets and reduce uncertainty, and keep offering coverage to patients at an affordable price. These reforms are critical to reduce costs for small businesses which provide health insurance to their employees and also to assist insurers in offering more affordable choices to those in the individual insurance market. This should bring relief to those concerned about the future of their insurance plans. We will reform and fix the ACA in an open and transparent way and I will continue to work for our constituents so that no patient has the rug pulled out from under them.”

The Department of HHS is holding a public comment period from now until March 7 at 5 p.m. Those interested in commenting can learn more here.
