This week I met with various organizations including the National Association of Independent Colleges, Hartwick College President Margaret Drugovich, Friends of the Upper Delaware River, and NYS School Board Association.
I was proud to cosponsor the Family Farm Relief Act (H.R. 281), which will move the H-2A visa program from the Department of Labor to the Department of Agriculture to help meet the needs of farmers and agricultural businesses. The bill will allow applicants to complete the necessary forms online or in paper format while improving the online user experience. Making the forms easier to complete online will help speed the approval process and allow farmers to find, hire or retain a qualified workforce and not jeopardize their crops and livelihood. H.R. 281's primary sponsor is Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and is also cosponsored by Rep. Mark Amodei (R-NV).
The House Budget Committee held its hearing on the Congressional Budget Office’s latest Budget and Economic Outlook. CBO Director Keith Hall was this week’s witness and I had the opportunity to ask some questions about what certain tax reforms would mean for our economy and jobs. I was privileged to introduce the 19th Congressional District of New York to the members of the 115th Congress this week. I appreciate Representative Doug Collins (R-GA) for hosting the speaking event. Click here or the image above to watch.
